MonsterNums — filling in the educational gaps of ADHD learners

For this project, I was the design lead for the nonprofit TechFleet. During this 8-week project, I contributed to the strategy, research, and early UI design of an app called MonsterNums.

The premise of this project was to create a math app for kids with ADHD that would address some common struggles that more standardized education methodologies don’t typically accommodate.

The problem diverse learning needs are overlooked

Issues ranging from working memory deficits to attention to anxiety cause issues with traditional math apps. These apps don’t offer the degree of customization needed to set up students for success.

The insight how might we accommodate students’ unique learning styles?

During the course of the project, I worked with a small team of designers to build an onboarding experience for new users that integrated customization settings.
